Getting started
- Install FunnelSleuth from a Shopify-owned installation surface.
- Approve read-only reporting and monitoring access.
- Open Timeline to see performance beside captured store changes.
- Open Change log to search and filter the supported backend changes FunnelSleuth has recorded since installation.
- Use a seven-, 14-, or 28-day comparison, or choose your own dates in Diagnosis.
What changes does FunnelSleuth keep in the change log?
FunnelSleuth records supported theme publishes and updates, live-theme file changes, product and variant availability, inventory, discounts and promotions, domain and store-setting changes, merchant notes, and enabled service-status incidents. Optional connections can add GitHub theme commits and supported content or schema events. Each source is labeled so you can tell exactly where a change came from.
How quickly will a new change appear?
Most webhook changes appear within a few seconds to a few minutes. Theme file checks run when the change log is opened or refreshed, no more than once every 10 minutes. Monitoring starts after installation, so FunnelSleuth cannot recreate webhook activity from before the app was installed.
Why does the app show “No storefront sessions yet”?
Development stores and newly launched stores may not have enough processed online-store visits. Generated products or orders do not create real visitor journeys. Open the sample diagnosis while Shopify finishes processing live traffic.
Does the app change my theme or checkout?
No. The app requests read-only reporting, theme, product, and discount access. It does not publish themes, edit checkout, inject storefront scripts, or modify products, discounts, and orders.
Why can percentages overlap?
The same store visit can be mobile, from social media, in Canada, and land on a product page. Each breakdown answers a different question, so percentages from separate breakdowns should not be added together.
Does a nearby store change prove the cause?
No. The timing tells you what to test first. Confirm the issue in the affected shopping step, check release notes, and only roll back in a controlled test.
How do I remove my data?
Uninstall the app from Shopify Admin. Store-specific session records are removed through the uninstall and mandatory privacy-webhook process. You can also email a deletion request with your store domain.
Which comparison window should I use?
Start with seven complete days for a recent, high-traffic change. Use 14 or 28 days when traffic is lower or weekly demand varies. Choose a custom date range when you know the exact promotion, release, or incident window you want to investigate. FunnelSleuth compares it with a same-length earlier period.
Why does the app need read-only access?
read_reports powers aggregate Shopify Analytics. read_themes, read_products, and read_discounts provide change context for diagnostic investigation. The app does not request permission to edit products, themes, discounts, orders, customers, or checkout.
What does the evidence label mean?
It shows how much usable data supports a finding and whether the change is larger than normal daily variation. Stronger evidence deserves attention first, but it still does not prove the cause.
How does billing work?
Each store receives a 60-day free trial. After the trial, Shopify bills $29.99 USD every 30 days until the merchant cancels the subscription through Shopify Admin.
Can I request a refund?
If the core product cannot be used as described after troubleshooting, contact support within 14 days of the first paid charge. Approved refunds are processed through Shopify.
Current service availability is published on the status page.
